The functioning of public broadcaster Prasar Bharati has been crippled, with the NDA government delaying crucial appointments, including that of chairman.
Though the government has now appointed former journalist P.V. Suryakumar as the chairperson and head of the 13-member board, it still needs to fill the positions of seven part-time members to get the organisation back on track.
Suryakumar succeeds Mrinal Pande as Prasar Bharati's chairperson.
The Doordarshan Bhawan in New Delhi. DD has been without a director general since July.
