NEW DELHI: Allaying concerns on Prasar Bharati's lack of autonomy, I&B minister Prakash Javadekar on Tuesday said there is no need for the Prasar Bharati CEO to write letters as he held regular meetings with all media heads.
Describing his morning tete-a-tete as "chai pe charcha" --a take-off from PM Narendra Modi's successful election campaign--Javadekar said chiefs of Prasar Bharati, Doordarshan, All India Radio, Press Information Bureau, Registrar of Newspapers and Directorate of Visual Publicity met him every day for a chat and all issues were discussed. He was asked what the I&B ministry's plans were on the public broadcaster's demand for autonomy in day-to-day working.
