Prasar Bharati CEO Jawhar Sircar on 28 October 2014 was elected Vice-President (VP) of Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) in Macau. He was elected unopposed.
While, the representative from South Korean broadcaster KBS was chosen president.

Jawhar Sircar is the Chief Executive Officer of Prasar Bharati, India's national public service broadcaster, with the rank of Secretary to the Government of India.
He supervises the two broadcasting networks of India, namely, All India Radio (AIR) & Doordarshan (TV) that are among the first three biggest in the world.
