Broadcaster operated by Prasar Bharti appoints three officials to its ad sales team
New Delhi: State broadcaster Doordarshan (DD) has revamped its advertising sales team as it seeks to increase its ad revenue by 15-20% this year, two of its officials said. The broadcaster operated by Prasar Bharti has appointed three officials to its ad sales team— Tauquir Zaidi, national sales head; Aum Tiwari, regional sales head (west); and Gunjan Varshney, regional sales head (north)—over the past one month. "We have set up a new sales team and plan to get into aggressive marketing. We will approach new clients including PSUs (public sector units) that don't advertise on our platforms apart from tapping into newer markets," said a DD official who declined to be named. DD garnered a total advertising revenue of Rs.1,293 crore during FY2014.
