India's public broadcaster All India Radio's (AIR) AM service may soon be available on FM transmitters in the biggest four metros in the country, reports Radioandmusic.com.
Vividh Bharti – the commercial channel of AIR is already available on FM in the rest of the country.
AIR Director General F Sheyeryar told the publication that medium wave broadcasts had not been possible in the metros until now because of highrise buildings.
