NEW DELHI, Jan 29 (KUNA) -- Indian Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid and his Sri Lankan counterpart G. L. Peiris in New Delhi held extensive discussions on key bilateral issues including fishermen, India-assisted developmental projects in Sri Lanka's Northern Province and prospects for enhanced economic cooperation.
The two sides agreed to remain engaged to ensure that fishermen on both sides can continue to pursue their livelihood in a safe, secure and sustainable manner, the state-run All India Radio (AIR) reported on Wednesday.
The progress in trilateral cooperation on maritime security among India, Sri Lanka and Maldives also came up in the ministerial talks, the AIR added. (end) wk.gb KUNA 292143 Jan 14NNNN
