Now, 20,397 homes in hilly Himachal Pradesh, 2,277 in Rajasthan, 1,942 in Madhya Pradesh, 1,500 in Karnataka and 1,253 in Gujarat will benefit from Doordarshan's direct-to-home (DTH) service DD Direct Plus.
In addition, the Information and Broadcasting Ministry says homes in hard to reach areas of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Jammu & Kashmir, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, and Uttarakhand will also receive the DTH set-top boxes.
DD Direct Plus is a free-to-air service comprising 59 TV channels, 19 of which are provided by Doordarshan. It is available across the entire country, except for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, which is served by another DTH service.
