Pranab praises AIR station | Business Standard
The local All India Radio (AIR) station came in for praise today from President Pranab Mukherjee for making "immense" contribution in popularising Tamil language and culture.
The President, who is on a visit to the city, lauded the local AIR's role in his speech on the occasion of the platinum jubilee celebrations of the station.
"Through production of quality programmes over the years, AIR Chennai has made immense contribution to Tamil language and culture. Its role in the promotion of Carnatic music is particularly noteworthy.
