Your edit 'How Autonomous is Prasar Bharati?' (ET, May 6) presents a case for making the broadcaster accountable to Parliament via a standing committee. Fortunately, such an arrangement already exists: central government organisations are accountable to Parliament.
Moreover, there is a standing committee for all ministries of the government of India. Since control suppresses innovation and original thinking, self-regulation appears to be the best formula.
