Doordarshan, the TV network stuck in the 1990s, is not the most powerful, or the most popular brand in India. Most people would feel that DD stands for every brand that is old, boring and out of date. Its approval rating will probably not be very high, no matter who you ask.
But even this brand has realized that it could fall lower. We have heard that Doordarshan may be suing the Delhi Daredevils (also known as DD) for defaming the initials they both share.
We asked a top executive at Doordarshan why this was happening, and he shed some light on the case. He acknowledged that Doordarshan had been lagging behind every one of its competitors for decades, that it lacked on at least 7 fronts: programming,............
