NEW DELHI: Doordarshan's strength of 24-hour regional language channels has gone up to fifteen with the soft launch of channels in Patna, Bhopal, Jaipur and Lucknow.
While the public service broadcaster already has eleven regional language channels, the programmes to these centres were being telecast for about four hours every evening from 5.00 pm.
Doordarshan director general Tripurari Sharan, confirming the soft launch, said these channels may be formally launched later after trial runs.
