Regional news channels join hands to form All India News Broadcasters Association

A number of news channels have tied up with the Government and various agencies to put together a unified platform for ensuring ethical journalism and to look at a collective solution for ridding the industry of the various problems that continue to plague it without a workable solution in sight.

Christened All India News Broadcasters Association, this group comprising heads/ owners of small and medium news channels held its first meeting in Delhi.

Elections were held for putting together the interim team of founding office bearers of the Association:
MS Walia (Azad News) – Chairman
Anil Gaba (Total TV) – Vice Chairman
Tejinder Pal Singh (Patiala based Channel 2) – General Secretary
SK Gupta (Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh based TV channel TV100) – Treasurer
Dr Prakash Sharma (Jabalpur's SMBC Insight Channel) and Amit Agarwal (Raipur's Channel TSN) – Joint Secretaries

In addition, the following are the members of the governing body:
ID Garg (Gurgaon's Khabrein Abhi Tak)
Pushpendra Singh Baghel (Khabar Bharti, Noida)
Vikram Newaar (Tazaa TV, Kolkata)
AK Sama (Fast News, Rohtak)
