Doordarshan signs agreement with France 24

India´s only free to air DTH service, Doordarshan and France 24, an international news and current affairs channel has concluded a new distribution agreement through which the channel will be available free of cost on Doordarshan's DTH platform – DD+.

The channel will be broadcast from November 1st. The channel has also announced that it has inked a deal with private DTH player, Dish TV. In addition to the seven million subscribers who will be able to access the channel through cable, it will also be accessible to the 31 million dedicated viewers through Doordarshan.

Doordarshan for its part has been actively adding more channels to its current bouquet of channels. Currently 59 channels coming under DD´s bouquet of which 30 are private channels, 21 DD channels and two channels that telecast parliament sessions but it's looking to add more educational as well as entertainment channels in the near future.
